Intelligence of Depth: A Psychological Exploration of Fisting

When I first started writing this publication, I thought it would be about fisting.
Or at least, I thought it would be about the personal journey into fisting—how someone moves from a place of curiosity and gradually becomes more immersed in the practice.
But somewhere along the way, the project started to change.
I found myself writing about awareness, vulnerability, trust, and pleasure. About the stories we inherit about our bodies and the ways those stories shape our experiences long before any physical sensation is ever present.
What began as a companion to Anatomy of Depth slowly became something else entirely.
Intelligence of Depth explores what happens when we look beyond anatomy and technique and begin paying attention to the psychological experiences that often accompany fisting. It examines how we relate to openness, uncertainty, pleasure, self-trust, and connection, and why certain experiences can reveal patterns that extend far beyond the body itself.
One of the ideas that appears throughout the publication is that fisting has a way of reflecting things back to us. How we respond to uncertainty. How we navigate trust. How we relate to vulnerability. How willing we are to experience deep pleasure without immediately analyzing, controlling, or judging it.
Those questions ended up becoming far more interesting to me than the guide I originally set out to write.
The result is the most reflective publication I've created so far, and one that feels deeply connected to the work I do with clients every day.
If you've ever sensed that there was something happening beneath the physical experience (something difficult to name, but impossible to ignore), then I think you'll find yourself somewhere in these pages.
Intelligence of Depth: A Psychological Exploration of Fisting is available now.
With care,
Danny
